Gophers Drop Big Ten Opener Against Iowa
The University of Minnesota men's basketball team dropped its Big Ten Conference opener against Iowa 72-52 in Iowa City. The Gophers are now 4-5 overall this season with the loss.
Minnesota was led by sophomore forward Daniel Oturu's 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Alihan Demir added 12 points for the poor-shooting Gophers. Gopher guards Marcus Carr and Gabe Kalscheur combined to shoot just 1-20 from the floor.
Minnesota will try to bounce back when they host #3 Ohio State Sunday afternoon.
