The St. John’s University football team opened up MIAC play with a win over Bethel, and the Granite City Lumberjacks and St. Cloud Norsemen both notched their second wins of the weekend on Saturday. The Twins dropped game three to the Blue Jays, the Wild came up short in their exhibition opener, and the Gophers fell to Bowling Green in Minneapolis on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Lynx are prepping for a single-elimination playoff game against Chicago, and the Vikings look to earn their first win of the season when the Seattle Seahawks come to town on Sunday.

The Vikings lost 34-33 Sunday at Arizona against the Cardinals. Greg Joseph missed a 37-yard field goal as time expired for the Vikings that would have won the game. The Vikings drop to 0-2 while Arizona improves to 2-0.

The NDSU Bison and Minnesota Golden Gopher football teams both earned massive wins while the Minnesota Twins came up short on Saturday afternoon. Coming up on Sunday the Minnesota Vikings suit up for a week two matchup in Arizona, while the Minnesota Lynx will close out the regular season with a trip to Washington. The Vikings could move on from Kirk Cousins following this season. Options to replace Cousins could include free agency, this year's 2nd round pick Kellen Mond or the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Vikings lost 27-24 in overtime at Cincinnati Sunday to open the season. Kirk Cousins had another impressive stat line with 351 yards passing and 2 touchdowns without an interception. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan says both Head Coach Mike Zimmer and General Manager Rick Spielman don't like Kirk Cousins anymore.

The Vikings have reportedly acquired tight end Chris Herndon from the New York Jets in exchange for a 2022 4th round draft pick. The Vikings also get a 6th round in 2022 from the Jets. The Vikings will play at least one week without starting tight end Irv Smith Jr. due to meniscus surgery.
