Wilt Chamberlain, Two Brothers, and Crosby, Minnesota

First and foremost: Crosby was the Antique Capital of the World. Was. Now it's all about the mountain biking and boujee living. Just had to clear that up about my hometown.

The home of Project Manhigh (Man hello!), the Milford Mine Disaster, and...me...now has a new distinction: the home of the highest (hello-est!) vintage basketball card sale of all time.

Caleb Baker of Crosby Facilitates Record-Breaking Basketball Card Sale

Caleb co-owns DK's Sports Cards in Crosby. The now-rich seller came across a card among an old pile of cards he and his brother collected.

Caleb had the card sent to SGC Grading in Boca Raton (Florida) to have the card's condition graded. It got a 10 out of 10.

That's outstanding.

The card? A 1961 Fleer Basketball Wilt Chamberlain rookie card. Yup, THAT Wilt Chamberlain.

If the card's grade was an 8 out of 10 (really good), it would've been worth about $40,000. Still a good chunk of change.

The card sold for $1.7 million.

Both the buyer and the sellers wish to remain anonymous. I don't blame any of them.
