Gopher Men’s Basketball Routs Northwestern

The Gopher men's basketball team defeated Northwestern 75-52 at Williams Arena Sunday afternoon.  Minnesota jumped all over Northwestern early and led 41-24 at halftime.  Joe Coleman led the Gophers with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Julian Welch added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for Minnesota.  The Gophers shot 58 percent from the field and Northwestern shot 32 percent.

Minnesota is 15-5 overall and 3-4 in the Big Ten.  The Gophers have won 3 straight games.  Minnesota will play at #9 Michigan State at 7:30 Wednesday night, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 7:00.
