Cathedral Baseball Advances To State Semifinals

The St. Cloud Cathedral baseball team defeated St. Anthony Village 3-1 Thursday afternoon at Dick Putz Field in the Class AA State quarterfinals.  Andrew Thome threw all 7 innings with 4 hits and 1 earned run allowed to get the win.  He had 4 strikeouts and 1 walk.  Thome also hit a solo homerun.  Matt Dodge broke a 1-all tie in the 5th inning to put Cathedral up for good.  Cathedral is 22-3 and will play Fairmont at noon Friday.  Hear the game on AM 1390-the Fan.
