Cathedral Baseball Wins State Quarterfinal

The Cathedral baseball team defeated Cloquet 12-4 in the Class AA State Tournament Quarterfinals at Dick Putz Field today.  Cloquet jumped on top 2-0 before Cathedral came storming back.   Dominic Austing was the winning pitcher with 4 runs allowed in 4 innings and Tommy Auger thew 3 shutout innings to get the save.  Nate Giambruno was 3-4 for the Crusaders and Jack Schramel had 2 hits, 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored for Cathedral.

Cathedral improves to 24-0.  Cathedral advances to play either Glencoe-Silver Lake or Marshall at noon at Dick Putz Field Friday, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 11:50.
