The two best teams in the Central Lakes Conference this baseball season, are set to square off once again this Saturday at the MAC.  It's ROCORI (15-6) vs. Apollo (19-1).

And to say that Apollo has gotten the better of it this year between the two teams - would be a serious understatement!

They have played twice.  The Spartans haven't scored a run yet.  Enough said.  The only two times ROCORI was shut out all year, were both at the hands of the Eagles.

Each team has a powerful line-up, with a great lead off man to seemingly always get things started; Tyler Mueller for Apollo, and Mac Mueller for ROCORI.  The difference in the game may be that apollo has the best player in the CLC, Reese Gregory.

Gregory is a; reliable, dangerous, and smart hitter - with very good power.  He also happens to be a fantastic pitcher - and will probably be going for his second straight shutout of the Spartans, come Saturday.

Sean Terres will most likely get the start on the mound for ROCORI, and he is very good, as well, so I don't expect many runs to be scored in this game.

Of course, from here on - it's basically a double elimination tournament - between; ROCORI, Apollo, Bemidji, and St. Michael-Albertville.

The loser of the ROCORI/Apollo game, will immediately have to play the loser of the Bemidji/STMA - with their season on the line.  The winner, gets to sit in the winner's bracket, and have a few days off.

All the action between ROCORI/Apollo can be heard on Saturday morning @11am on The Fan - as well as the following game @ 2pm.

Make sure you join myself, and Seth Toupal, on Saturday for all the action!
