Twins Stomped In Oakland Sunday
The Twins saw their recent momentum evaporate in a 14-1 loss to the A's in Oakland on Sunday afternoon. Minnesota is now 50-42 on the season, six games behind the Kansas City Royals in the American League Central.
Tommy Milone allowed seven runs (five earned) on five hits, including three home runs, over just 2.2 innings. J.R. Graham was brought in to the game in the third inning to stop the bleeding and did anything but, allowing four runs on five hits in just over two innings of work.
Josh Phegley, Josh Reddick, Billy Butler and Jake Smolinski all hit home runs for Oakland, who took two out of three from the Twins on the weekend.
Minnesota is off on Monday night before beginning a series with the Angels in Anaheim. First pitch Tuesday is scheduled for 9:05 PM.
