Fifteenth-ranked Louisville (7-0 overall, 2-0 Big East) is led by quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and running backs Senorise Perry and Jeremy Wright. Cincinnati (5-1, 1-0) was ranked and undefeated before dropping its game against Toledo last week. The Bearcats have beaten Louisville in the last four meetings between the teams.

Barry Zito threw 5 2/3 innings with 1 earned run allowed to get the win and Justin Verlander allowed 6 hits and 5 earned runs in 4 innings to take the loss.

The Waite Park 13 and under youth baseball team lost 6-3 to Greenville, North Carolina in bracket play at the 13AAA Babe Ruth World Series in Kitsap, Washington late Monday night. Waite Park is eliminated with the loss and finishes the tournament 3-2. Jack Schramel was 1-4 with a 2-run single and 3 RBIs and both Sam Nelson and Camren Dehler had 2 hits apiece. Dehler took the loss allowing 11 hits and 6 earned runs in 7 innings.

Joey Atkinson allowed 6 earned runs in 3 innings to take the loss. Atkinson was 2-2 with 1 RBI and Chris Backes was 2-3 with a run scored for the Silverstars.

The Waite Park youth baseball team improved to 3-0 in pool play at the 13AAA Babe Ruth World Series in Kitsap, Washington. Waite Park defeated Meridian, Idaho 8-7 Friday afternoon. Michael Petron drove in the game-winning run in the 7th inning to lift the Silverstars to the win. Cameron Dehler was 3-4 with 2 runs scored, Peter Nelson was 2-4 with 2 runs scored and both Jack Schramel and Joey Atkinson had 2 RBIs apiece.
