Foley native Bryn Greenwaldt performed well Saturday at the United States Olympic trials in Indianapolis. She competed in the 50 free SCY. Greenwaldt finished 5th in her heat with a time of 25.93.
The Foley baseball team lost 6-0 Friday at Target Field in the Class AA State Tournament Championship game. William Haas threw a complete game 1-hit shutout for Rockford. Trey Emmerich threw 3 2/3 innings with 7 hits and 6 runs allowed (2 earned) to take the loss.
Foley came from down 5-3 in the 7th inning to defeat Zumbrota-Mazeppa 6-5 Thursday night at Dick Putz Field in the Class 2-A State Tournament quarterfinals. Foley tied the game at 3 apiece in the 3rd inning after Zumbrota-Mazeppa ran out to a 3-0 lead.
The Foley baseball team is making their 2nd straight Class 2-A State Tournament appearance this week when they play Zumbrota-Mazeppa at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Foley boys tennis will participate in the Class A state tournament today against Breck at noon at the Reed Sweatt Tennis Center in Minneapolis. Breck is seeded 2nd while Foley is unseeded.
