The Minnesota Twins topped the Braves 4-2 Tuesday night in Atlanta in the opening game of a two-game set. The Twins are now 48-71 on the season.

Ervin Santana's run of quality starts continued with seven shutout innings in which the righty allowed just four hits and a pair of walks. Santana has given up three or fewer runs in ten straight starts for the Twins

Joe Mauer hit a solo home run for the Twins, his tenth of the season, and Trevor Plouffe finished 3-5 with a pair of runs batted in.

The Twins play in Atlanta again on Wednesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. on AM 1240 WJON, with pregame coverage beginning at 5:30.
