The Vikings cut left tackle Bryant McKinnie Tuesday afternoon after 9 seasons.  The move came just a day after the Vikings signed free agent offensive lineman Charlie Johnson.  Johnson started 27 games in the last 2 seasons at left tackle for Indianapolis.  The 27-year old Johnson gets a 3-year deal with the Vikings worth $10.5 Million with $3 Million guaranteed.

Johnson lined up at left tackle and wore #74 when the Vikings first team offense took the field at practice Tuesday.  Viking head coach Leslie Frazier says Johnson will play a significant role this season.

The Vikings are also suggesting that quarterback Joe Webb could be used in a variety of ways this season including possibly in a wildcat formation.  The Vikings practice today in pads from 9-11:30am and will do a walk through practice from 3-4 this afternoon.
