Wild Storm Back In Third Period To Earn Point In Detroit Tuesday

The Minnesota Wild stormed back from a three goal, third period deficit to tie the Red Wings in Detroit Tuesday night before falling in a shootout. It was the last game for the Wild before the All Star Break until its next game in Edmonton on January 27th.

The Wild tied the game at one at 13:22 of the first period on a Mikko Koivu goal, but the Red Wings struck again in the first before netting a pair of second period goals to take a 4-1 lead into the third period.

Zach Parise and Thomas Vanek tied the game for the Wild in the final frame, with Parise book-ending Parise's pair of goals including the tying goal at 13:21.

After a scoreless overtime, the Red Wings took the shootout and earned the 5-4 win.
