Twins Struggle All-Around In 13-4 Rout by Detroit
MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Twins lost 13-4 to the Detroit Tigers at Target Field Sunday afternoon.
Things started off well with Twins pitcher Kyle Gibson pitching a scoreless first and slugger Miguel Sano driving in Brian Dozier in the bottom of the 1st to give the Twins a 1-0 lead. From there things unraveled.
After an error from Minnesota's Danny Santana allowed Detroit to get on base, Gibson gave up a home-run to the next batter to make the game 2-1 Tigers.
The Twins couldn't respond and went down 1-2-3 in the 2nd.
Gibson would not make it through the 3rd inning after giving up 5 more runs on four hits.
Eddie Rosario hit a lead off home-run for the Twins in the 5th inning, but the Twins were still down 7-2 entering the 6th.
Detroit would knock in three more runs in the 6th and another three in the 9th to finish off the Twins and win the weekend series.
