Matt Tolbert went 2-4 with a run scored and 2 RBIs, Michael Cuddyer went 2-4 with 2 runs scored and Delmon Young went 2-4 with a run scored and 1 RBI for the Twins. Scott Baker threw 7 innings with 9 hits and 3 earned runs allowed to get the win for Minnesota.

The Twins beat the Yankees 7-6 in Fort Myers, Florida Sunday. Jim Thome and Michael Cuddyer each hit homeruns and Carl Pavano threw 6 innings with 11 hits and 4 earned runs allowed to get the win. The Twins also optioned infielder Luke Hughes and relief pitchers Athony Slama and Jim Hoey to triple-A Rochester.
