Perkins, Twins Collapse in Loss to Royals 4-3
The Twins lost 4-3 in 10 innings in Kansas City Sunday afternoon. Minnesota led 3-1 going into the bottom of the 9th inning when Glen Perkins gave up an RBI triple and sacrifice fly from Kendrys Morales to tie the game at 3 apiece. Trevor May walked the lead off man in the 10th inning. Pinch runner Terrance Gore scored the winning run on a wild pitch with 2 outs. May takes the loss, Perkins suffers a blown save.
Ricky Nolasco started the game for the Twins. He threw 7 solid innings with 3 hits and 1 earned run allowed with 5 strikeouts and no walks. Brian Dozier hit a solo homerun, Miguel Sano had an RBI single, Joe Mauer was 3-3 and Eduardo Nunez went 4-4.
The Twins are 0-6 and will host the White Sox today in their home opener at 3:10, pregame on WJON at 2:30. Right hander Kyle Gibson will start for the Twins and left hander Jose Quintana will start for the White Sox. Chicago is 4-2.
