The Twins lost 2-1 Wednesday night to Baltimore.  Tommy Hunter threw 7 1/3 innings with 6 hits and 1 earned run allowed to get the win.  Francisco Liriano threw 6 innings with 4 hits and 2 earned runs allowed to take the loss.  Liriano gave up a 2-run homerun to Adam Jones in the first inning to Baltimore.  Josh Willingham hit a solo homerun for the only Twins' run.  Willingham was 2-3 and Trevor Plouffe was 2-3 for Minnesota.

The Twins are 38-53 and are 12 games back of the White Sox for first place in the American League Central.  Minnesota will host Baltimore again today at 12:10pm, pregame on WJON at 11:40.  Righthander Cole DeVries (2-2) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and lefthander Wei Yin Chen (7-5) gets the start on the mound for the Orioles.

Twins' closer Matt Capps has irritation in his rotator cuff in his right shoulder and is now shutdown and out indefinitely.  Twins General Manager Terry Ryan hopes Capps can heal with rest and therapy and avoid surgery.  Jared Burton and Glen Perkins will continue to handle the closer role for the Twins.
