This is the season to go outside and enjoy the beauty of Minnesota. No matter if you’re outdoors for recreational fun or because you’re taking care of your property, off-road vehicles are popular tools or toys to use at this time of year.

Of course, these are vehicles that we can use during the winter months for fun or work as well.

One of the country’s most popular brands of off-road vehicles has placed a recall on one of their premier models. Polaris has recalled their Ranger XP Kinetic and Pro XD Kinetic off-road vehicles because of the risk of a fire.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission reported late last week that water can leak through the high voltage wiring harness components and in turn can cause those components to short circuit and/or catch on fire.

There have been 47 reports thus far of this happening including four reports of smoke with sparking and six reports of melting and a fire. No injuries have been reported thus far, but that is what the recall is trying to prevent.

The Ranger XP Kinetic vehicles that fall under this recall were sold in 2023 and 2024 in camouflage and white colors. The Pro XD Kinetic was sold this year with gray plastic body panels and black frame. All models of these specific models fall under this recall.

If you own one of these models under this recall, contact Polaris and schedule an appointment for a free repair.

These vehicles sold for between $24,000 and $37,500.
