MN FALCON CAM UPDATE: 4 EGGS FOR ACADIA!
Acadia keeps on bringing us surprises.
Acadia laid her first egg in the morning on Sunday, April 19th, 2026. It was after the sun came up, but sometime before 10 am. We wondered how many more there would be.
ACADIA HAS FOUR!
Typically, Peregrine falcons lay eggs anywhere between 48 and 72 hours apart. They typically lay 1 to 5 eggs. As of Sunday evening, April 26th, 2026, I noticed we now have FOUR eggs in the nest! She laid egg number FOUR sometime on Saturday or Sunday April 25th or 26th.

DOES ACADIA KNOW HOW MANY MORE EGGS ARE COMING?
I'm wondering if Acadia actually KNOWS how many eggs she will lay? I find it interesting that peregrine falcons don't start sitting on their eggs to incubate them until the 2nd to last egg is laid! After she laid egg number three, she DID spend more time in the nest. Does this mean that egg number four was the last?

ACADIA IS SPENDING MORE TIME IN THE NEST
When I checked this morning, all four eggs were in the nest, and Acadia was sitting on the eggs. If the predictions are correct, this is probably the last egg... but she could surprise us.
Last year, Acadia had four, and all of them made it to fledgling status. There were three girls and a boy.
WHO IS THE MALE FALCON THIS YEAR?
The male falcon doesn't have a name yet, but he is four years old and came from Minneapolis City Hall in 2022.
