Sartell-St. Stephen Sports

The state tournament is set to begin on Thursday in Burnsville, Prior Lake and Shakopee. The Sabres will open pool play at 10:30 a.m. with their opponent yet to be determined.

I will bring to you game summaries of the following teams; weekly and possibly bi-weekly as well. Rocori Spartans, St. Cloud Tech Crush, Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm and Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres of the Central Lakes Conference. St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders, Albany Huskies, Foley Lumberjacks and Pierz Pioneers of the Granite Ridge Conference, the Becker Bulldogs of the Mississippi 8 Conference. Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles, Royalton Royals, Kimball Area Cubs, Paynesville Bulldogs, Holdingford Huskers and Maple Lake Irish of the Central Mn. Conference.

We will include from the Central Lakes Conference: Sartell Sabres, Sauk Rapids Storm, St. Cloud Tech Tigers and Rocori Spartans. From the Granite Ridge Conference: Albany Huskies, Foley Falcons and the Becker Bulldogs from the Mississippi 8 Conference. From the Central Minnesota Conference the Eden Valley Watkins Eagles, Kimball Area Cubs, Holdingford Huskers, Paynesville Bulldogs and Royalton/Upsala Royals.

The Sartell baseball team dropped a pair of games in the Class AAA state tournament in Jordan Wednesday afternoon. The Sabres fell 7-0 to the Mahtomedi Zephyrs in a semifinal matchup then dropped a wild third place game 16-15 shortly after.

The Sartell Sabres will take on Mahtomedi Wednesday at 2:30. The game can be heard on AM 1390/FM 93.9 Granite City Sports.

The Sartell Sabres will take on Albert Lea at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Mini-Met in Jordan. The game can be heard on AM 1390/FM 93.9 Granite City Sports and on the free Granite City Sports app.

Sauk Rapids-Rice, Sartell, Albany and ACGC are all headed to next week's state tournament.

The Sartell Sabres will represent Section 8AAA and the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm 5AAA in the upcoming state baseball tournament in Jordan. The state tournament begins on Tuesday, June 15th at the Mini Met.

The Sabres got on the board first with a four-run first inning and never looked back as the #1 seed held serve throughout the game.
