Should the Vikings Have Waited To Take A QB?

Most draft experts will say that the Vikings panicked and reached for quarterback Christian Ponder with the 12th overall pick in the draft Thursday night.  With quarterbacks Cam Newton, Jake Locker and Blaine Gabbert off the board the Vikings continued the quarterback run with the pick of Ponder.  The run ended there as no other quarterbacks were taken in the first round.  Andy Dalton of TCU and Ryan Mallett of Arkansas are expected to be taken early in the 2nd round tonight when the draft resumes.  If the Vikings didn't take Ponder at #12 would he still be available?  Could the Vikings have added Nick Fairley, Prince Amukamara, or Anthony Costanzo and waited on a quarterback?  That is the question but we'll never know the answer.  The Vikings have the 11th pick in the 2nd round tonight and should try and get some offensive line help.
