Central Minnesota Youth Baseball Clinic This Sunday
Baseball season is here for The Twins, College teams and high school players. These players waited through a long cold winter for their chance to be back on the field.

Some of the younger players will be getting their chance to hit the field in the coming months. They of course must have coaches and other folks to get involved to help them learn the game and hopefully have some fun.
Another group of folks they need to be involved in their summer leagues are umpires. Let’s face it, the men and women have an incredibly tough job. They’re responsible for keeping the order of the game while knowing the rules and trying their best to get each call right.
For those who are spending their time working these games, they want to do the best job possible. And there’s an opportunity for them to get better this weekend even though there’s no games.
There will be an umpire clinic this Sunday in Clear Lake. This event will be held at Clear View Elementary School from 10am until Noon. This annual event is an opportunity for umpires of all ages and skill levels to learn new tricks of the trade and connect with others in a community of umpires.
Attendees will learn more about improving calls overall as well as positioning and game management. This is a perfect opportunity for new or younger umpires to gain more knowledge and be around other officials who could help them move closer to becoming the umpire they hope to be.
The cost of the event is $20, and they will accept cash or checks at the door. For more details, email Heather Helmbrecht at heather.helmbrecht@clayba.com.
