The Twins blanked the Cleveland Indians 2-0 Thursday to win their season and home opener. Jose Berrios made his first opening day start and threw 7 2/3 innings with 2 hits and no runs allowed with 10 strikeouts to earn the win.
Twins' center fielder Byron Buxton is batting .400 and stole 2 bases yesterday. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me today on WJON. He suggested that Buxton start the year hitting 9th to take the pressure off and give him a chance to be a 2nd lead-off man.
