According to rivals.com the Gopher men's basketball program will be adding former Louisville 6'7 215 pound power forward Raheem Buckley.

The Gopher men's basketball team has reportedly reached an agreement with 30-year old Richard Petino to become their new head men's basketball coach. CBS was the first to report the agreement. Petino is the son of Louisville head coach Rick Pitino.

The 9th ranked Gopher men's basketball team defeated #18 Michigan State 76-63 at Williams Arena in their Big Ten opener Monday. The Gophers finished the game on a 22-4 run.

The Gopher women's basketball team defeated Creighton 88-81 in double overtime Sunday. Rachel Banham led the Gophers with 39 points and Micaella Riche added 23 points and 10 rebounds for Minnesota.

The 14th ranked Gopher men's basketball team won 88-64 at home against South Dakota State Tuesday night. The Jackrabbits played without top scorer guard Nate Wolters. The St. Cloud Tech High School graduate missed the game due to a sprained ankle the day before the game.
