According to rivals.com the Gopher men's basketball program will be adding former Louisville 6'7 215 pound power forward Raheem Buckles.  Buckles transferred from Louisville to Florida International to play for Richard Pitino but sat out all of last season due to transfer rules and a torn ACL sustained while playing at Louisville during the 2011-2012 season.

Buckles averaged 4.0 points per game in 35 games at Louisville his freshman season, averaged 7 points per game his sophomore season, and 4 points a game his junior year at Louisville before tearing his ACL.  He's suffered 2 torn ACLs in his career.  It's unclear whether Buckles will be eligible to play for the Gophers in the 2013-2014 season.  He'll need to apply with the NCAA.

The Gophers have a need for a power forward with the loss of Trevor Mbakwe and Rodney Williams to graduation.
