The Vikings entered last week with a long list of needs that included veteran quarterback, offensive line, receiver, defensive line, and safety.  The Vikings addressed the veteran quarterback position with the trade for Donovan McNabb.  They addressed offensive with the signing of Charlie Johnson and releasing Bryant McKinnie.  They signed free agent receivers Devin Aromashadu and Michael Jenkins, and signed free agent defensive tackle Remi Ayodele.

Safety is one position that hasn't been touched yet aside from released veteran Madieu Williams.  The Vikings are currently slated to start Hussein Abdullah and Tyrell Johnson.  Abdullah was a nice surprise last year but Johnson has started before and failed as a starter.  The top free agent safeties out there have already been signed the Vikings only showed moderate interest in Eric Weddle.

Let's hope the Vikings don't regret not signing or trading for a new safety.
