The Reason This Timberwolves Player Is Wearing Purple Shoes This Season
The NBA season is about to kick off, and fans of the Minnesota Timberwolves are hopeful that the team will make another playoff push to advance past the Western Conference Finals and into the NBA Finals for the first time in team history. One of those players who will hopefully take them deep into the playoffs is fan favorite Naz Reid. This year, Reid will be wearing shoes that aren't team-colored, but rather purple in color. Why the departure from T-Wolves colors? It's a deeply personal and special reason.
He Went To LSU, But That's Not Why He Is Wearing Purple
Naz Reid, who stands 6'9" and plays a combination of Center/Power Forward depending on the lineup, went undrafted in 2019 but signed with the Wolves shortly after the NBA Draft out of Louisiana State University. Members of the press during the preseason asked him if that was the reason he was wearing purple shoes this year. The answer he gave was honest, and it gave some reporters pause in asking a follow-up.

Naz Reid Is One Of The Most Popular Players Among Wolves Fans
The last two weeks, the Minnesota Vikings were playing out of the country, and there was a fan at both the Dublin game, as well as the London game, holding up a Naz Reid towel, and one Browns reporter was confused about the situation.
Yes, Naz Reid's popularity is so strong that his name is being waived at an NFL game.
