Cleveland downed the Twins 6-2 in Cleveland Wednesday to salvage the final game of the 3-game series and snap their 11-game losing streak. Brian Duensing allowed 11 hits and 6 runs (4 earned) in 7 innings to take the loss and drop to 2-7. Justin Masterson threw 7 innings with 3 hits and 2 earned runs allowed to get the win. Alexi Casilla hit a 2-run homerun supplying the Twins with their only runs. Minnesota managed just 4 hits.

The Twins lost 4-3 in Anaheim to the Los Angeles Angels Monday night. Minnesota fell behind 4-0 before scoring 3 runs in the 8th inning but they came up short. Nick Blackburn threw 6 innings with 7 hits and 3 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 0-3. C.J. Wilson threw 7 1/3 innings with 5 hits and 3 earned runs allowed to get the win. Former Twin Torii Hunter hit a 2-run homerun for the Angels.

The Twins avoided salary arbitration with 2nd baseman Alexi Casilla by agreeing to a 1-year contract worth $1.382 Million. Casilla hit .260 with 2 homeruns and 21 RBIs in 97 games playing 2nd base and shortstop for the Twins in 2011.

The Twins beat the Texas Rangers 5-4 Thursday night at Target Field when Alexi Casilla singled in Luke Hughes from 2nd base with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th inning. The Twins took a 4-1 lead when Michael Cuddyer hit a 3-run homerun.
