
Sheriff’s Deputies Track Suspect With Bloodhounds In Minnesota
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office shared over the weekend the role that their deputies played while the manhunt for Vance Boelter played out the weekend of June 14th and 15th. While the deputies and their bloodhounds weren't a part of the actually apprehension, the tracking they provided were invaluable to the investigation.
A Nearly 2-Day Long Man Hunt
The manhunt for Boelter went on for almost 2 full days after it was alleged that Vance Boelter started him crime spree in the early morning hours of June 14th, before being caught in a farm field at 9:15PM on Sunday the 15th, in Green Isle.
Since his arrest in that field near Green Isle, Boelter has been charged Federally "with stalking and murdering Minnesota House of Representatives Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, in addition to stalking and shooting Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman and his wife."
Stearns County Has 2 Bloodhound K9 Officers
According to an April news release, Stearns County has two bloodhounds, K9 Porter, and K9 Storm. K9 Porter is handled by Deputy Fischer, while K9 Storm is handled by Deputy Laura Berg. In total the Stearns County Sheriff's Office has 4 K9 teams.
