ST. CLOUD -- Severe thunderstorms dropped record amounts of rain in some areas as storms pushed through the region yesterday (Monday).

St. Cloud set a daily record for rain with 2.63 inches of rain recorded, breaking the old record of 1.53 set back in 1990. However, locally higher amounts were common around the area.

Five inches of rain was being reported in Sauk Rapids, 5.5 inches in Sartell and four inches in St. Stephen.

Flash flooding was reported in St. Cloud, Waite Park, and Sartell.

Hail was also reported earlier in the day in places like Sartell, St. Stephen and Rice.
