Over the last couple of years, the mall has been losing tenants. We have all noticed it, and many were saying that the mall is dead. It's not. The issue, after speaking with a few places that have closed, isn't necessarily that they weren't getting the business that they needed to stay open in that location.  One reason has been that the rent was too high. Another was that the parent company may be filing bankruptcy, and closing certain store locations.  One store that had a financial issue was Rue 21, and now that location has reopened in the Crossroads Mall.  And in the same location.

The new owners, who took over somewhat recently, are doing what they can to fill the vacant spaces.  The biggest one recently, is Crunch Fitness.  This is new to St. Cloud, and the mall.  It only has an outside entrance and is located next to DSW.  The official open date is October 31st, Halloween.

This store recently opened, and when we walked by it seemed to be fairly busy.  Great for some fun shirts or for an event or company apparel.

We also saw this store which looks like it may be opening soon.  At least the sign is up!

Who doesn't need to relax a bit more, right? Also, this location is not too far from where Crunch Fitness is.  So, if you need to relax after a hard workout, this looks like it might be the perfect place to go.

At least there are some new things coming to the mall.  It's a staple in the St. Cloud area, and has been as long as I can remember.  It's gone through a lot of changes and owners, but still keeps plugging away.
