The University of Minnesota men's hockey team closed out the weekend 0-1-1 against Notre Dame.

Minnesota struck first, taking a 2-0 lead in the first period thanks to goals from Brannon McManus and Josh Perbix. Notre Dame answered with two of their own in the second period to tie the game 2-2.

Garrett Wait scored Minnesota's third to take back the lead, but the Fighting Irish closed out the game with three unanswered goals to top the Gophers 5-3.

Jared Moe made a career-high 34 saves and allowed four goals.

The Gophers fall to 3-4-1. They will travel to Ann Arbor on Friday to play a two-game series against the University of Michigan.
