I don't think the Twins should re-sign free agent pitcher Carl Pavano.  The 34-year old free agent is talking with the Twins and at least 4 other major league teams.

Here's why the Twins should shy away from the team leader in wins last season.  First, he has an injury history, 2nd, his ERA in 2009 was 5.10 and his 3.75 ERA in 2010 was an aberration.

The biggest reason to not sign Pavano is that he's not a much better option than the 5 other starting options the Twins already have.  Pavano would cost the Twins at least $7 Million a season.  The Twins need a legitimate staff ace.  Pavano is a nice pitcher but not a staff ace.
