The Gopher football team defeated Miami-Ohio 29-23 Saturday afternoon at TCF Bank Stadium. The win gives new head coach Jerry Kill his first win with the Gophers. He suffered a seizure last Saturday near the end of the game in the loss to New Mexico State. Marguis Gray threw for 163 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 171 yards to lead the Gophers. Donnell Kirkland ran for 55 yards and a touchdown and Malcolm Moulton had 4 catches for 72 yards.

Kill is expected to coach the team Saturday.

Gray was 7-12 passing for 94 yards and ran for 47 yards in the loss against USC Saturday. Gray left the game in the 2nd half with cramps and was replaced by freshman Max Shortell.
