The University of Minnesota introduced Jerry Kill as their new head football coach at a press conference on Monday afternoon.

Kill comes to Minnesota after coaching the past 3 seasons at Northern Illinois.

He acknowledged that he wasn't Athletic Director Joel Maturi's first choice to coach at Minnesota, but said he wasn't even his wife's first choice.

Kill plans to honor the verbal commitments from high school recruits, but vows to recruit speed at all positions and he says he likes an athletic quarterback.

Kill plans to begin the recruiting process immediately.
