ST. CLOUD TECH COMMUNITY COLLEGE CYCLONES BASEBALL RECAP
(Saturday April 2nd/Sunday April 3rd)

After the Cyclones had a number of games postponed because of the wet fields, they went on the road to get some games in. They traveled to Aurora, Minnesota to play on their high school field, that had a turf surface. The Cyclones went 2-1 with the Hibbing Cardinals and they defeated the Vermilion Ironman at Aurora too.

The Cyclones were in a battle till they put up five runs in the fifth, this gave the Cyclone pitchers good support. Righty Grady Fuchs a freshman from Paynesville High School started on the mound, he threw six innings to earn the win. He gave up five hits, one run, issued two walks and he recorded nine strikeouts. Righty Carter Dox a freshman from Aitkin High School thew the final inning in relief to close it out. He gave up three hits, three runs, one walk and he recorded a strikeout.

The Cyclones offense was led by Jackson Peter a freshman from Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa High School. He went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double for three big RBI’s. John Deschamps a sophomore from Centro High School Puerto Rico, he went 2-for-3 with two big home runs. Joel Torres Rivera a freshman from Manuel Cruz Marceira High School Puerto Rico. He went 1-for-3 with a double for an RBI, he had a stolen base and he scored a run. Drew Beier a freshman from Foley High School went 1-for-2 and he earned a walk. Frank Fernandez a sophomore from Keys Gate Charter School Florida, went 2-for-3 and he scored a pair of runs. Carson Geislinger a freshman from Eden Valley-Watkins High School earned a walk and a pair of stolen bases. Brady Linn a freshman from Rocori High School went 1-for-3, with a stolen base and he scored a run.

The Cardinals starting pitcher Kazclion Mount threw four innings, he gave up six hits, five runs, one walk and he recorded five strikeouts. Joshua Lopez threw two innings in relief, he gave up four hits, two runs, one walk and he recorded a strikeout. The Cardinals offense was led by Robert Rodriquez, he went 2-for-3 with a double for two RBI’s. Carter Pickard went 2-for-4 for two RBI’s and he scored a run. Ariel Gonzales went 2-for-2 with a double and he scored a pair of runs. Noah Villarreal went 1-for-2, with a stolen base and he scored a run. Caden Willis and Ezekiel Walton both went 1-for-3.

The Cyclones put up five runs in the first inning and they hung on for a big win over the Cardinals. They collected a pair of home runs and a double to give the Cyclones pitchers some good support. Righty Christian Lessman a sophomore from New London-Spicer High School started on the mound, he threw five innings to earn the win. He gave up seven hits, five runs, issued a pair of walks and he recorded five strikeouts. Righty Landon Lunser a freshman from Sauk Rapids High School threw two innings to earn the save. He gave up three hits, one run and he recorded two strikeouts.

The Cyclones offense was led by their shortstop Drew Beier, he went 2-for-4 with a double for two RBIs, he had a stolen base and he scored a run. The Cyclones DH John Deschamps went 1-for-2 with a home run for three big RBIs and he earned a walk. The Cyclones center fielder Brady Linn went 1-for-3 with a home run and he scored three runs. Freshman Preston Schlegel from Big Lake High School went 1-for-3 for an RBI and he had a stolen base. The Cyclones first baseman Frank Fernandez earned a walk and he scored a pair of runs. Cyclones third baseman Jackson Peter was credited for an RBI and he scored a run. Cyclone second baseman Joel Torres Rivera earned a walk.

The Cardinals starting pitcher Diego Escamilla threw two innings, he gave up three hits, six runs, two walks and he recorded three strikeouts. Jose Figueroa threw five innings in relief, he gave up two hits, two runs, one walk and he recorded four strikeouts. Their offense was led by Carter Picard, he went 1-for-3 for two RBIs. Robert Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a double and he scored a run. Ariel Gonzalez went 2-for-3 for an RBI an he scored a run. Diego Escamilla went 2-for-3 for an RBI and he scored a run. Adrien Silva had a sacrifice for an RBI and Hunter Herpel went 1-for-4.

The Cardinals put up eight hits early and they didn’t look back, Ryan Vondracek started on the mound, he threw a complete game to earn the win. He gave up four hits, two runs, two walks and he recorded six strikeouts. Their offense was led by Ezekiel Walton, he went 2-for-3 for three RBI’s and he scored two runs. Diego Escamilla went 2-for-4 for an RBI and he scored a run. Noah Villarreal went 1-for-3 for two RBIs and Robert Rodriquez went 3-for-3 and he scored three runs. Wademar Martinez went 1-for-3 for an RBI and he scored a run. Hunter Herpel was credited for an RBI and he scored a run and Adrien Silvia was credited for an RBI.

The Cyclones starting pitcher a sophomore Sam Boysen from John Marshall High School threw five innings. He gave up six hits, three runs, and he recorded four strikeouts. Dylan Haskamp a 5’9” righty from Sauk Centre High School threw one inning in relief, he gave up two hits, six runs, three walks and he recorded a strikeout. Brady Linn a righty from Rocori High School threw one inning, he gave up one hit.

The Cyclones offense was led by Jackson Peter, he went 1-for-3 with a home run for two RBI’s. Drew Beier went 1-for-3 and Dylan Haskamp went 1-for-3 and he scored a run. Cyclone catcher Michael Solis from Gregory Portland High School Texas went 1-for-3. Preston Schlegel went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and Joel Torres Rivera earned a walk.

The Cyclones scored early and often, they collected ten hits, including four doubles to give their pitcher great support. Righty Drew Beier started on the mound, he threw six innings to earn the win. He gave up three hits, issued two walks and he recorded nine strikeouts. Lefty Carter Wessel from Paynesville High School threw one inning in relief, he recorded a pair of strikeouts.

The Cyclones offense was led by Drew Beier, he went 3-for-4 with a double for an RBI, he had a stolen base and he scored a pair of runs. Preston Schlegel went
1-for-2 with a double for an RBI and he scored a run and his brother Zeus Schlegel went 1-for-2 for an RBI and he scored a pair of runs. Jackson Peter went 1-for-3 with a double and he earned a walk. Dylan Haskamp went 1-for-3 for three RBIs and Joel Torres Rivera went 1-for-3 with a double and he scored a run. Carson Geislinger was credited for an RBI, he earned a walk, had a stolen base and he scored a run. Frank Fernandez went 1-for-4 and he scored a run and Brady Linn went 1-for-1 with a stolen base and he scored a run. John Huebsch a freshman from St. Cloud Apollo High School was credited for an RBI and Peyton Winter a freshman from Dassel Cokato High School earned a walk.

The Ironman starting pitcher was Jacob Worley, he threw five innings, he gave up nine hits, seven runs, two walks and he recorded three strikeouts. Jesus Trevor threw one inning, he gave up one hit, two runs, one walk and he recorded a strikeout. Dalton Campbell went 2-for-3 and Zach Henry went 1-for-2 for the Ironman.
