I guess it was about a year ago that I did a story on someone's family dog being shot with an arrow and there was absolutely no reason for anyone to want this dog dead.

That is except for the jerk bow hunter that thought that this dog was purposely scaring away any potential deer he might have the opportunity to bag.

This dog killer was eventually charged but the family lost their beloved dog.

I just don't understand why some people think it's okay to kill an animal that belongs to someone, just for the joy of killing it.

According to KVRR, last Sunday evening April 10th, someone drove by a very rural farm and shot and killed a horse standing in a pasture with a high powered rifle. This happened at a farm just outside of Barnesville, Minnesota, close to the Clay County and Wilkin County line.

This was a senseless act, to say the least. The owner of the horse said that there is very little traffic that goes by his place. He also said he noticed a unfamiliar vehicle drive by the day the horse was killed and the vehicle was equipped with spotlights.

The owner found the horse later with a bullet hole in the rear hip area.

Just a senseless act by some jerk that thought it would be fun to shoot a horse just for the hell of it.

If you have any information that would help the Wilkin County Sheriff's Department apprehend this horse killer, call 218-643-8544.
