When I was a kid one of the only reasons I wanted to go to McDonald's was to get the Happy Meal toy.  They were so fun! Then, even as an adult when I had a job working on the phones, I had a bunch of them all around my computer.  I felt a little like Penelope on Criminal Minds, if you are familiar with that show and character.

Recently, McDonald's basically did away with the toys in a Happy Meal, because that shouldn't be the reason that kids want that particular meal.  It's the same thing with cereals.  No more fun toys in the cereal boxes.  That is such a bummer.  As kids we used to just dump out the entire box of cereal into a big bowl and get the prize out, then put the cereal back in the box.  Probably not what you were supposed to do, I'm sure the idea was to eat the cereal and eventually the prize would come out.  NOPE! We were too impatient.

Now, McDonald's has announced that they will be bringing back a popular toy for their Happy Meals.  It's the Squishmallows!  I love those things!  Usually if you buy them in the store they are as big as a regular pillow, and can double as that.  It's like a squishy friend that you can hug or sleep on/with.

Obviously, these Squishmallows will be more like a Beanie Baby.  And each one will have a name tag on them. They also have an added feature to play after you get the toy and the meal.

Each Squishmallow toy comes with a character hang tag, which details its name and its story – in the case of Halley, for instance, it would mention its intergalactic travel ability. Each toy also includes a code you can scan to play an interactive game.

It's like twice the fun, plus you get the Happy Meal too.  The McDonald's Squishmallows will be around for a limited time - while supplies last.
