Minnesota Vikings Reveal New ‘Rivalry’ Uniforms
The Minnesota Vikings are leaning heavily into ancient Viking lore with an eye-catching new jersey designed by Nike. The 2026 'Rivalries' jersey includes a darker purple color than past Vikings uniforms and several details relating to the Viking Age.

Ancient Viking warriors wore practical armor for everyday conflict. But for their most significant battles, they donned their finest regalia, choosing their most valuable, meaningful and symbolic pieces as a reflection of the importance of the moment.
Inspired by that tradition, Vikings players will now take the field in an elevated uniform worthy of an NFC North rivalry.
INSPIRED BY HISTORY
The deeper purple color is joined by a Pale Ivory color, which 'takes its cue' from the Gjallarhorn, 'bringing a more natural, earthy richness to the palette,' according to the team's website.
WHAT DOES IT SAY ON THE NEW MINNESOTA VIKINGS HELMET
The helmet features the team's slogan, 'SKOL,' in runic characters that were used during the Viking age, and the team's wordmark has also been updated to 'take inspiration from the chiseled structure of ancient rune carvings.' Noticeably, on the uniform's sleeves, is a Nordic knot pattern inspired by the Gjallarhorn.
WHEN WILL THE VIKINGS WEAR THEIR NEW UNIFORMS?
The Vikings will wear these special uniforms for one game only (at least for this season) on December 20th when they host the Detroit Lions at US Bank Stadium.
