It feels like we just essentially wrapped up the Winter Olympics from Milan, Italy.  And now, people are already setting their focus on the Summer Olympics, which will happen in 2028 in Los Angeles.  It's great that the USA is getting the Olympics back here again.  The last time the games were here in the States was back in 2002 when the Winter Olympics were held in Salt Lake City, Utah.

SUNI LEE IS MAKING A THIRD OLYMPIC RUN TO THE 2028 SUMMER OLYMPICS

Our favorite Minnesotan gymnast, Suni Lee, is making a third run towards the 2028 Olympics.  She is 23, so she does have plenty of time to compete.  Though she will be 25 by the time the Summer Olympics roll around, while the youngest a gymnast can compete in the Olympics is 16 or 15 if they will be turning 16 within the calendar year.  She will be potentially 9 years older than another gymnast on the Olympic team.

Suni Lee definitely has the props to get her to the next Olympics.  She is the 2020 Olympic all-around gold medalist and uneven bars bronze medalist and the 2024 Olympic all-around and uneven bars bronze medalist. She was the 2019 World Championship silver medalist on the floor and bronze medalist on uneven bars.

SUNI LEE STARTING HER JOURNEY TO THE 2028 OLYMPICS INCLUDING A DOCUMENTARY

Suni will have to start training right away to be ready for the Olympic Team Trials that happen in June of 2028.  She has been taking a break for awhile, and is now filming a documentary on her life and her Olympic journey.

This documentary gives audiences unprecedented access to one of the most accomplished athletes of her generation as she navigates extraordinary personal and professional challenges. We’re proud to partner with Suni and Cookie Jar & a Dream Studios to capture this defining chapter of her life and career.

Suni had this to say about the documentary:

“This is more than a documentary; it’s an invitation to come along for the journey. I know there’s more in me, and this is my chance to challenge myself, test my limits, and see what I’m truly capable of,” said Lee. “This isn’t about proving anyone wrong. It’s about showing up for myself and discovering what’s possible. Through the setbacks and the victories, I’m giving myself one more chance to find out what happens when I keep going.”

There is no date as to when the documentary will be released, but Fanatics Studios said it will most likely be on the streaming service Netflix.

As for Suni Lee's former teammate Simone Biles - will she make a run for Los Angeles? When asked she simply said "we will see".  So, no promises there.
