The Twins lost 6-0 in Cincinnati to the Reds Saturday afternoon. Johnny Cueto threw 7 shutout innings with 3 hits allowed and 9 strikeouts for the win for the Reds. Brian Duensing made the start for the Twins and allowed 4 hits and 4 earned runs in 3 innings to take the loss. The start was the first this season for Duensing. Joe Mauer was in the lineup at first base with Justin Morneau getting the day off. Mauer, Josh Willingham and Ryan Doumit each had 1 hit for the Twins. Mauer had missed 4 games with a bruised quad.

The Twins loaded the bases in the 9th inning with 1 out but failed to scored and lose their 10th straight game 5-4 to Seattle Tuesday night at Target Field. The Twins have lost 15 of their last 16. Adam Kennedy broke the 4-all tie with a RBI infield single in the 7th inning for the Mariners.

The Twins lost 8-1 to the Baltimore Orioles at home Tuesday night. Brian Duensing allowed 9 hits and 7 earned runs in 2 innings to take the loss and drop to 8-13. Duensing has a 5.12 ERA. Danny Valencia hit a solo homerun accounting for the lone Twins' run. Justin Morneau returned to the lineup after missing 3 games after he fouled a ball off his foot. Morneau was 0-3 as a designated hitter.

The New York Yankees beat the Twins 8-4 Thursday night in the first game of a 4-game series at Target Field. Joe Mauer was forced to play right field because of injuries to Matt Tolbert, Jason Kubel and Denard Span. Mauer made the routine plays and was 1-3 at the plate with 1 RBI. Tsuyoshi Nishioka went 2-4 with a run scored and 1 RBI and Ben Revere was 2-5 with 1 RBI.

The Twins were swept by the Chicago White Sox this weekend including a 7-0 loss Sunday afternoon at Target Field. Jake Peavy threw 8 shutuout innings with 3 hits allowed to get the win. Brian Duensing allowed 9 hits and 4 earned runs in 6 1/3 innings to take the loss and drop to 8-10. Minnesota managed just 4 hits while the White Sox had 4 homeruns. Minnesota is 51-63 and are 10 games back of Detroit for first place in the American League Central.

The Twins lost 5-1 at Anaheim to the Angels Tuesday night in the first game of the 3-game series. The loss is the 3rd straight for the Twins. Michael Cuddyer and Jason Kubel were each 2-4 and Jim Thome was 1-4 with 1 RBI. Denard Span was 0-3 with a walk and a stolen base in his return to the lineup.

The Twins begin a 3-game series in Anaheim against the L.A. Angels tonight at 9:05, pregame on WJON at 8:35. Lefthander Brian Duensing (8-8) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Ervin Santana (6-8) toes the rubber for the Angels. The Twins are 50-58 and are 7 games back of Detroit for first place in the American League Central.

The Twins won the first game of a 3-game series against Tampa Bay at Target Field 7-0 Monday afternoon. Brian Duensing threw a complete-game 6-hit shutout to get the win. Danny Valencia went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and a 3-run homerun and Tsuyoshi Nishioka had a 2-run bases loaded double for the Twins. Michael Cuddyer hit a solo homerun for the Twins, his 12th.

The Twins defeated the Royals 6-0 in Kansas City Sunday to complete a 4-game sweep. Minnesota scored 3 first inning runs to support Brian Duensing. Duensing threw 8 shutout innings with 6 hits allowed and 4 strikeouts. He gets the win and improves to 3-5. Jason Repko went 2-4 with 3 RBIs, Luke Hughes went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and Matt Tolbert drove in 2 runs for the Twins.

The Seattle Mariners beat the Twins 3-0 at Target Field Wednesday afternoon. Minnesota loses 2 of 3 games against Seattle this week. Franklin Gutierrez had 2 hits including a solo homerun for the Mariners. Brian Duensing allowed 4 hits and 3 earned runs in 7 inning to take the loss for the Twins. He falls to 2-5.
