Mariners Beat Twins 3-0
The Seattle Mariners beat the Twins 3-0 at Target Field Wednesday afternoon. Minnesota loses 2 of 3 games against Seattle this week. Franklin Gutierrez had 2 hits including a solo homerun for the Mariners. Brian Duensing allowed 4 hits and 3 earned runs in 7 inning to take the loss for the Twins. He falls to 2-5. Minnesota outhit the Mariners 7-5 with Alexi Casilla going 2-3 for the Twins. Minnesota is 16-32 and 14 1/2 games back of Cleveland for first place in the American League Central. The Twins are off today and will host the L.A. Angels at 7:10 Friday night to begin a 3-game series, pregame on WJON at 6:40. Righthander Scott Baker (2-3) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Tyler Chatwood (3-2) gets the ball for the Angels. The Twins also placed righthander Kevin Slowey on the 15-day disabled list with an abdomen strain.
