WINDOWS 10 IS GOING AWAY SOON

According to an online article, Windows 10 is now in its final few months of offering support. Why is that important to know? Because as of October 14th of this year 2025, you will no longer receive updates and support that keep your system safe.

Microsoft has already released three new versions of the Windows 11 platforms; so this time, if you want to keep your information and data safe, you'll need to get a new computer that offers Windows 11.

Apps and drivers will also eventually stop supporting Windows 10, although it might take a little bit longer to disappear.

WHAT ARE YOUR OPTIONS?

First, if your computer is able, upgrade it to Windows 11. There is a free upgrade for all Windows 10 users, as long as you have a PC that has supported hardware. To check to see if your PC will support Windows 11, run the Windows PC Health Check App. This will let you know if Windows 11 will work on your current computer.

If your computer does not support Windows 11, the only other option is to purchase a new computer. Windows 11 PCs are extensive and come in many different sizes and price options so shop around before you buy.

A TEMPORARY FIX

Your last option is this, but it's just a temporary fix. If you don't like Windows 11 and you don't want to upgrade, you can pay for support. Microsoft says that it will let you pay for continued support on Windows 10, approximately $30 a year for additional security updates that will keep your computer safe until October 14th of 2026. It's not a forever fix, but it can help you limp along should you need more time to save for a new computer.

SWITCHING

Other options? Well, you could switch over to Linux or Mac computers.

What happens if you do nothing? Well; you can take chances that no one will be able to access your computer, but that's taking a big chance. It's better to be safe than sorry. You could lose your identity and suffer a lifetime of stress from people trying to use your identity.
