Heading into the weekend, word from inside the Lumberjack's locker room was that the guys were locked in on Alexandria, and the upcoming home and home series between the two division rivals. When the sawdust settled last night after the horn, brooms would have been more appropriate than cowbells, as the Lumberjacks handled business and won both late-season division games.

On Friday night the Lumberjacks had a pleasant bus ride home after beating the Alexandria Blizzard 2-1. Parker Comstock and Brayden Willis scored in the 1st period for the Lumberjacks and they were able to hang on and play defense for the remaining two periods to get the W.

In goal for the Lumberjacks on Friday night was Cathedral grad Nick Hansen who stopped 28 of the 29 shots he faced.

Last night, the Lumberjacks needed twice the goals to get the win on their home ice, but once again the team showed just how focused they were besting the Blizzard two nights in a row, with Saturday's contest ending 4-3 in favor of Granite City.

Scoring for the 'Jacks last night were:

Teagan Dodge, TJ Lepisto, and Finn Greeley (all in the first period) scored the game-winning goal, which was scored by Gavin Forrest in the third period. At the time, the Jacks were up 4-2, before a late goal from Alexandria made it 4-3.

Between the pipes Saturday night was Trent Peterson, he stopped 27 of the 30 shots he faced.
