(Sunday February 27th/Colorado Springs, Colorado/Mountain Lion Park
The Huskies got their offense going early with five big runs in the first inning. They gave their starting pitcher, junior righty Riley Ahern from Inver Grove Heights great support. He threw five innings, gave up five hits, three runs, two walks and he recorded seven strikeouts to earn the win. Senior righty Nick Brauns from Peoria, Arizona threw 1 2/3 innings in relief, he gave up one hit and he recorded a strikeout. Sophomore lefty Jack Habeck threw 1/3 of an inning in relief to close it out.
The Huskies offense was led by a huge game by Sam Riola a junior from Ham Lake, Minnesota, went 5 for 5 with two home runs and a triple for three RBIs. He scored three runs, and he earned a pair of walks. Drew Bulson a junior from St. Cloud, Minnesota had a very good game with a pair of triples and a home run for four big RBIs and he scored a pair of runs. Ethan Navratil a freshman from Albany, Minnesota went 2 for 3 with two doubles for two RBIs, he earned a walk and he scored a pair of runs. Tate Wallat a sophomore from Federal Way, Washington went 3 for 4 with a double for three RBIs and he scored a pair of runs. John Nett a sophomore from Appleton, Wisconsin went 1 for 4 with a triple and he scored a run. Paul Steffensen a senior from Kenal, Alaska went 2 for 4 and he scored a run. Reid Conlee a junior from Ham Lake was credited for an RBI and Matt Gamm a senior from Woodbury, Minnesota earned a walk.
The U of Mary starting pitcher was J. Draheim, he threw 5 1/3 innings, he gave up thirteen hits, nine runs, one walk and he recorded three strikeouts. K. Jones closed it out with 1 1/3 innings in relief, he gave up two hits, four runs and a walk.
The U of Mary offense was led by D. Shoen he went 1 for 2 for an RBI, a walk and he scored a run. K. Keller went 1 for 3 for an RBI and he scored a run and A. Jimenez went 2 for 3 for an RBI. K. Papierski went 1 for 3 and he scored a run and T. Jones went 1 for 1.
UC COLORADO SPGE 14 SCSU HUSKIES 4
(Saturday February 26th) Just a few notes
Starting pitcher for the Huskies was lefty senior Trevor Koenig from St. Cloud, Mn. The offensive leaders for the Huskies was the DH Sam Riola, he went 3-for-4 with two home runs for three RBIs and he scored three runs. Tate Wallet, the Huskies second baseman went 2-for-4 and he scored a run and Paul Steffensen the Huskies right fielder went 1-for-3. Drew Bulson the Huskies catcher had a sacrifice fly for an RBI. Ethan Navratil the Huskies third baseman went 1-for-3 with a double and Cameron Vollmer the Huskies first baseman went 1-for-2.
The starting pitcher for UC Colorado was J. Cowles, he threw a complete game to earn the win. They did put up four runs in the third and five in the fifth inning. Their offense was led by Faragallah went 3-for-4 with two doubles for three RBIs, he scored two runs and he earned a walk. W. Ramsey went 3-for-3 with a double and a sacrifice fly for three RBIs. M. Johnson went 1-for-4 with a double for two RBIs and he scored a run. B. Madison went 2-for-5 with a double for two RBIs and he scored a run. L. Salmarano went 1-for-4 for two RBIs and K. Sago went 3-for-5 with a double and he scored a run.
CSU PUEBLO 8 SCSU HUSKIES 2
(Monday March 1st/Pueblo, Colorado/Rawlings Field)
The Huskies starting pitcher Ryan Duffy a lefty from South St. Paul High School threw 5 1/3 innings, he gave up six hits, four runs, two walks and he recorded five strikeouts. Fabian Villegas a righty from Shadow Ridge High School Arizona threw 1 1/3 innings in relief, he gave up one hit, two runs and he recorded a strikeout. Shannon Ahern a lefty from The Academy of Holy Angels threw 1/3 of an inning in relief, he gave up two hits and one run. Ethan Lanthier a freshman from Northfield High School threw one inning in relief, he gave up two hits, one run and he recorded two strikeouts.
The Huskies offense collected just six hits, led by Tate Wallat a sophomore from Todd Beamer High School of Washington, he went 2 for 3 for an RBI and he earned two walks. Tyler Schiller a sophomore from Hutchinson High School went 2 for 3 with a double and he earned a walk. Paul Steffensen a senior from Kanai Central High School of Alaska went 1 for 5 with a double and he scored a run. Drew Bulson a junior from St. Cloud
Tech High School went 1 for 4 for an RBI and Cameron Vollmer a junior from Hillcrest High School of California earned a walk and he scored a run. Sam Riola a junior from Blaine High School earned a walk and John Nett a sophomore from Kimberly High School of Appleton, Wisconsin earned a walk.
The CSU crew put up four runs in the sixth, two in the seventh and two in the eighth. Starting pitcher Tim McIntyre threw four innings, he gave up five hits, one run and he recorded four strikeouts. Ewing Corrales threw two innings in relief, he issued one walk and he recorded six strikeouts.
Their offense was led by Ty Lewis he went 1 for 3 with a double for two RBIs, he scored a run and he earned a walk. Reggie Williams went 3 for 4 and he scored a run and Brady Previtt went 1-for-4 with a double and he scored a run. Brock Rodrigues went 1-for-3 with a sacrifice hit for two RBIs and he scored a run. Noah Hennings went 2-for-3, he earned a walk and he scored two runs and Trey Vasquez went 1 for 4 for an RBI and he scored a run. Matt Shea and Kysen Havard both went 1 for 4.
SCSU HUSKIES 16 UC COLORADO SPRINGS 15 (Tuesday March 2nd)
The Huskies had some big early innings, putting up four runs in the third, four in the fourth and four in the eighth innings. They hung on for a big win over the Mountain Lions of UC Colorado Springs. The Huskies starting pitcher lefty freshman Luke Tupy from New Prague High School threw 4 1/3 innings, he scattered six hits, gave up three runs, issued one walk and he recorded twelve big strikeouts. Righty senior Nick Brauns from Sunrise Mountain High School in Arizona threw 1 1/3 innings in relief. He gave up two hits, one run, one walk and he recorded two strikeouts. Lefty sophomore Jack Habeck threw two innings in relief, he gave up six hits, five runs and he recorded three strikeouts. Righty freshman Ethan Lanthier from Northfield High School threw one inning in relief, he gave up four hits, five runs and he recorded three strikeouts. Righty sophomore Tommy Thompson from Chanhassen High School threw 1/3 of an inning, he gave up one hit and issued one walk.
The Huskies offense collected twelve hits, including six extra base hits, led by Paul Steffensen a senior from Kenai Central High School of Alaska. He went 3-for-5 with a home run for three RBIs, he scored a pair of runs and he had a pair of stolen bases. Ethan Navratil a freshman from Albany High School had a big game, he went 2-for-5 with a home run for four RBIs, scored a pair of runs and he earned a walk. Max Gamm a senior from East Ridge High School went 2-for-4 with two big triples for an RBI, he scored three runs and he had a pair of stolen bases. Sam Riola a junior from Blaine High School went 1-for-3 with a home run for a pair of RBIs, he scored four runs, he earned three walks and he had three stolen bases. John Nett a sophomore from Divine Child High School of Wisconsin went 1-for-5 with a double for a pair of RBIs, he scored a pair of runs, earned a walk and he had a stolen base. Tate Wallat a sophomore from Todd Beamer High School of Washington went 1-for-4 with a pair of walks, he scored a run and he had a stolen base. Tyler Schiller a sophomore from Hutchinson High School earned a walk and he scored a run. Cameron Vollmer a junior from Hillcrest High School of California earned a pair of walks. The Mountain Lions starting pitcher was Dylan Grierson threw 3 1/3 innings, he gave up four hits, nine runs, four walks and he recorded three strikeouts, he was the pitcher of record. Evan Langston threw 2 2/3 innings in relief, Hunter Owens threw one inning in relief, Brock Weiss gave up two walks and one hit. Brian Marquez threw one inning in relief and Joe Harris threw one inning in relief.
Their offense was led by Kiichi Sato, he went 4-for-6, With two doubles and he scored three runs. Jaeden Hegmann went 2-for-4 with a double for two RBIs and Kit Wigington went 3-for-6 with a double for two RBIs. Caleb Stubbings went 3-for-6 with a home run for three RBIs and Tyler Richardson went 3-for-6 with a home run and a double for an RBI. Henry Ryan went 1-for-3 with a home run for two RBIs. Dylan Morace went 1-for-3 with a home run and Aaron Faragallah went 1-for-6 with a double for a RBI.
