MN DNR Fall Color Map will Help You with Fall Color Viewing
One of the best things about Fall is the fact that it's pretty. Artists like to "go paint/draw the fall colors". People take drives specifically to view the many fall colors that happen during the season, and it's something nice to see before they all fall to the ground, and we welcome winter returns.
I am one of those people who loves the Fall season the best. It's crisp, orchards are open, people go on pumpkin hunts, football season, Thanksgiving, and the Fall colors are so fun to watch. The only downfall (see what I did there) is the fact that the next season is Winter, which is my least favorite season. The biggest problem (for me) is the fact that Winter doesn't stay in it's lane. No one needs 5-6 months of winter and then the other 3 seasons are crammed into the other half of the year.
Back to the good part of the year... Fall, or Autumn if you're a purist.
The Minnesota DNR has put together a map that will best help you with when the "potential" best color viewing will happen.
If you go to the DNR website, there is a slider which will give you the best time to make plans to head to Nothern Minnesota for a weekend of Fall color viewing. Or, also letting you know when those fall colors will be the best in the Central part of Minnesota. Then you don't have to drive too far. Even though it's fun to take a long weekend and drive to Northern Minnesota.
Might be a good time to plan a staycation of sorts.
