ST. CLOUD – The crowd was treated to quite a spectacular opening ceremony Sunday night for the Can-Am Police Fire Games.

The North Memorial Air Care helicopter flew over the near capacity Husky Stadium to open the ceremony, followed by the Minnesota Police Pipe Band.  The National Anthems for both countries was sung, and as the U.S. National Anthem was being performed a National Guard Blackhawk Helicopter took off.  The ceremony also featured several dozen K-9 units, and a show-stopping demonstration by the S.W.A.T. teams was definitely a crowd pleaser.

The Can-Am Police Fire Games run through this coming Sunday with 48 events being held around the area.  Competitors are in town from 27 states, eight Canadian Provinces, and the Ukraine.
