Santa Lucia's Ice Cream, with locations in Princeton and Milaca, is preparing to say goodbye to another summer. But exactly when the Princeton location closes depends on one very important thing...Ice cream!

Santa Lucia's recently announced that its Milaca location has officially run out of ice cream. That means the doors there are now closed for the season. The good news for ice cream lovers is that the Princeton location still has some left, but you might not want to wait too long.

DOORS ARE STILL OPEN IN PRINCETON

Santa Lucia's says the Princeton shop plans to remain open through August 31st, but there is one catch. If they run out of ice cream before then, they'll close early.

So basically, the clock is ticking, Minnesota.

If you've been thinking about stopping in for one more cone, sundae, shake, or favorite flavor before summer officially starts slipping away, now might be the time.

THE SURE SIGN THAT FALL IS COMING

There is something about those seasonal businesses that makes their closing feel like an unofficial signal that summer is almost over. Sure, we may still have plenty of warm days ahead. September in Minnesota can surprise us with some absolutely beautiful weather. But once the ice cream windows start closing, it feels like we're entering a new season.

Soon we'll be trading ice cream cones for pumpkin spice everything, summer evenings for football games, and flip-flops for boots. I hate to say it...but we all know it's true.
