Former Twin Cities Television Reporter Coming Back To TV This Fall

A former Twin Cities political reporter is coming back to television this fall for the midterm elections. However, they will not be going back to their former station; instead, the political reporter will be changing stations and joining the team at Fox 9.

From The Good Neighbor To KMSP-TV

Pat Kessler, former long-time political reporter at WCCO-TV, is coming back to your television this fall for coverage of the midterm elections at Fox 9. The announcement was made early Wednesday evening on social media.

"Emmy Award-winning journalist  @PatKessler is joining FOX 9 as a political contributor ahead of the 2026 midterm elections."

Retirement After 36 Years At WCCO

Kessler retired from WCCO-TV after spending 36 years at the television station back in November of 2020. In fact, his last day on the air, Novemeber 24th, 2020, was declared Pat Kessler Day by Governor Walz.

While Pat had retired from working for WCCO full-time, he had come back from time to time as a contributor.

Welcoming Pat To Fox 9

According to the release from Fox 9, "Kessler will contribute to FOX 9's coverage of the 2026 midterm elections with regular appearances on all shows including All Day and the 5 p.m. evening news."

While it will be a little strange to see Kessler on a different network, it will also be fun to see him back on television, doing what he loves, reporting on local and national politics.
