SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL LIBRARY CARD SIGN-UP MONTH

September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, and the Great River Regional Libraries are celebrating that by holding their own Library Card Design Contest.

Back in June of this year, GRRL invited people of all ages to submit their artwork designs for new library cards. Anyone who lives within the Great River Regional Library service area could submit their artwork to be featured on the latest library card.

WHY DO YOU LOVE YOUR LIBRARY?

The artwork was based on creativity and design, and the artists were asked to create something that communicated the message, "Why do you love your library?"

This year's designs are featured in the above photo. The winners are:

  • Kids winner: Joshua, whose home library is in St. Cloud
  • Teens winner: Emily, whose home library is in St. Michael
  • Adults winner: Abigail, whose home library is in Buffalo
  • DESIGN CARDS NOW AVAILABLE

The design cards are now available while supplies last at your local library.

If you haven't already got a library card, or if your current card has expired, you can select which design you want when you sign up for your new card. You can sign up for your new card by clicking HERE.

For people like me who just might want to get the new card, we can do that too. Just bring $1 to the library and they will give you a new card of your choice. Just keep in mind, that you will ALSO be given a new number; so if you have your old one memorized, you may want to wait to get your new card at your expiration date.

If you have any questions you can contact GRRL at 1.833.438.4775 or contact your local library location.
